Finally the trail “Costa del Cilento” becomes reality!!

The inauguration of the route is on Sunday 10 April 2022.

It connects Scario to Marina di Camerota until Palinuro.

That’s great news, long-awaited by trekking lovers.

Finally it will be possible to admire the Cilento coast in all its beauty.

These places were hardly accessible until now.

Some of these were only accessible by boat.

But the Association “Massiccio del Bulgheria” decided to make a nice gift to hiking enthusiasts.

The volunteers of the Association worked really hard to make the trail accessible for all, freeing it of brambles and weeds.

The association’s commitment

They gave to the community of Cilento and tourists a unique trail.

The Association decided to make a dream come true.

From now on, the hikers can count on a trail of 50 km.

It embraces the whole Marine Protected Area of Infreschi and Masseta until you reach Capo Palinuro and its Arco Naturale (Natural Arch).

The Trail “Costa del Cilento” is also particular for another reason. In fact it also connects to other interesting trails of Cilento National Park.

Moving from Ciolandrea to Marina di Camerota

Only in the vicinity of Scario there are several trails like that of “Ciolandrea – Torre del Trarro” and the trail of Masseta.

But, now, only the inauguration of the Trail “Costa del Cilento” is expected.

The meeting is for Sunday 10 April 2022 at 5.30 pm to the harbor in Marina di Camerota.

But the hikers will be on the way already from 8.30 am.

A group of hikers will start from “Ciolandrea” in San Giovanni a Piro. Instead another group, at the same time, will start from Palinuro.

From Scario to Marina di Camerota it takes about 9 hours of walking.

The route is difficult. So, it’s recommended for expert hikers.
