When organizing civil weddings, the choice of location is fundamental.
On the one hand, the spouses want an original “frame” to fulfill their dream of love.
On the other hand, they care about receiving appreciation from the guests.
In recent times the Ciolandrea plateau has been attracting growing interest in Cilento.
Since the Municipality of San Giovanni a Piro approved a specific council resolution in February 2018, there has been an increase in requests from couples about to say “I do”.
Thanks to the location, one of a kind. The Ciolandrea plateau is in fact a spectacular natural terrace overlooking the sea. You can enjoy a simply spectacular view.
Say “I do” while admiring the beauty of 4 regions at once
It is no coincidence that in the area this “terrace” is also called the Belvedere of the 4 Regions, as trekking enthusiasts who take the opportunity to stop here know well.
The name is obviously not accidental.
In one fell swoop you can admire 4 Italian regions. The Gulf of Policastro, in fact, embraces Campania, Basilicata and Calabria.
While on the clearest days you can see some of the beautiful islands of Sicily (Aeolian and Stromboli).
This is why more and more people choose to celebrate their civil weddings in this location.
The glance is remarkable. As well as the surrounding nature: the plateau is at the foot of Mount Bulgheria, one of the symbols of the Cilento National Park.
Dates and times to celebrate civil weddings on the Ciolandrea plateau
Weddings and civil marriages can be celebrated all year round, every day of the week, with the exception of some public holidays.
“Marriages and civil unions – we read in the resolution approved by the municipal council of San Giovanni a Piro – can be celebrated […] every day of the week from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 6.00 pm”.
While “wedding celebrations on the following days are excluded: November 1st; 24, 25, 26, 31 December; 1, 5, 6 January; Easter Sunday and Easter Monday; June 24th.“
These provisions also apply to the equally interesting location (in addition to the municipal house) intended for civil rites: the Basilian Cenobio.
But particularly in the spring and summer period, it is the Ciolandrea plateau that attracts the greatest interest.
Naturally, after the wedding celebration comes the moment most awaited by the guests: the wedding banquet.
